Confidential and comfortable Online Therapy

Is online counseling right for you?

Much of our lives has been moved online in the past few years, not all of it by choice!  I began providing online counseling in 2017, having found that it met an unmet need for many people.  No extra time needed for a commute; no need to add the stress of finding an unfamiliar building, parking, etc; no need for childcare.  Sit on your own sofa, with a cup of tea and your favorite blanket, and maybe even a furry friend.  If your home (or office) is safe, comfortable, and private, and you have a good internet connection, online counseling may be the answer for you.  Sometimes the best healing occurs in your own safe space.

For those seeking IN PERSON therapy, I now offer in-person sessions at my convenient Carytown office in Richmond on Thursdays between 8am and 4pm!

Perinatal Mental Health

Supporting birthgivers is both my passion and my specialty. The journey from pre-conception through postpartum and early parenting is one of life’s biggest transitions—beautiful yet often overwhelming, even in the best of circumstances. Feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, sadness, guilt, or even anger and rage are more common than you might think. If you're struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety, early parenting challenges, the effects of pregnancy or birth-related trauma, or difficulties with fertility, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to help you find healing, confidence, and support during this transformative time, using convenient online therapy..

Perimenopause and Menopause

Often referred to as 'The Change,' menopause is a profound transition in a woman's life, with new research emerging each year to deepen our understanding. Beyond the physical shifts, the emotional changes and life stressors that come with this stage can feel overwhelming. But this time of change can also be a powerful opportunity—a chance to rediscover yourself, honor your journey, and step into the next chapter with clarity and confidence. Together, we can navigate this transition so you can embrace your life with joy and authenticity.  Reach out today for a convenient and confidential online therapy appointment.

Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Trauma

With a strengths-based and compassionate approach, I provide support to help you navigate anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Our work together will move at a pace that feels right for you—honoring your comfort while gently encouraging growth and self-discovery. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can heal, gain insight, and move toward the life you envision.  Online therapy can help you manage all that life is throwing at you!

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a brain-based intervention technique that, in addition to traditional talk therapy, is one of the tools I use in therapy.  It is a gentle form of focused mindfulness, that can help you get to the root of your struggles and heal more quickly.  Equally effective during online therapy sessions, we can incorporate it into our work together as we work on daily stresses or past trauma.  Ask me more about it!

Please don't let finances hold you back from seeking help.  While therapy is an investment that will pay off in positive ways for the rest of your life, I recognize that it can be financially challenging for some to afford.   I will work with you to find a way to make therapy affordable.  I believe that everyone deserves quality mental health care!

Payment and Insurance Information

At this time, I accept most Aetna, United/Optum and Anthem Virginia/BCBS plans.  For insurance that I do not accept, I can issue you a “superbill” to submit for reimbursement, if your plan provides out-of-network coverage.   Please contact your insurance company to inquire about out of network reimbursement.

I accept all major credit cards through a secure client portal, as well as cards linked to a Health Savings Account (HSA).

Good Faith Estimate

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a medical plan or have coverage or eligible for a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your rights to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosu
